General tasks of an author
The task of an author is the creation of self-learning material on a Master Degree Level using Blended Learning didactics. The learning materials must be written in a motivating, self-instructive and comprehensible way in addition to the correctness of the content. The students must be able to work themselves through the material successfully without assistance from teachers in order to achieve the specified learning objectives.
The Learning Outcomes define the competencies to be acquired and are specified and given for each module. Material that deviates from this will not be compensated.

General structure of the learning material
A page must contain between 1,800 and 2,000 characters (including spaces). Pages containing fewer characters will be summarized and counted as one page.
Each module will be divided into 6 - 9 Learning Units ("LU", equivalent to chapters). Each "LU" may contain further subdivisions (subchapters), but no further than the third level.
Each "LU" begins with an introduction. There the Learning Outcomes (the competences to be acquired) in this unit are described (length about ½ page). This is followed by the content. At the end of each LU there is a summary that summarizes what has been learned.
Each module must contain at least one and can contain up to four 'Case Studies' (detailed case description), each of which is at least 2-3 pages (which are also counted as pages). The Case Study / Studies must have a practical and regional (Afghanistan) relevance.

Didactical elements

  1. Each Learning Unit (LU) includes a set of 3 - 4 questions for the learner's self-test (quizzes). In each case, different question types must be used and the correct and incorrect answers must be given. The possible question types are provided by the Distance Learning Institute of the Beuth University of Applied Sciences. A set of 3 - 4 questions with answers that also give clues to the source of the error is counted as one page. Thus, there are 6 - 9 pages of questions and answers per module.

  2. In addition, it is mandatory that further didactic elements be included per module as a supplement to the continuous text on at least every second or third page, which are not calculated separately. Didactic elements include illustrations, photos, tables, sketches, graphics, drawings, etc. The didactic elements must enhance the quality of the text. Elements without recognizable added value are not included.

All services described above must be written in English. The author is responsible for proofreading the services and undertakes to prepare the texts to at least C2 language level.
In addition, all texts must be written according to the state of the art, i.e. the technical information must be presented in a short, concise, understandable and error-free manner.

Qualification
The selection process will be based on professional experience in the field of subject / module combined with the didactical performance and expertise concerning the given task. General requirements (criteria) for authors are: a completed University degree; several years of professional experience (after graduation), which is conducive to the task; excellent knowledge in the chosen subject / module; pedagogical aptitude.
