Apply now! For a BHT doctoral scholarship
Twice a year, the BHT awards doctoral scholarships for the preparation as well as the interim and final financing of doctoral projects to highly qualified graduates. The scholarship holders receive a scholarship of 1,250 €/monthfor twelve months. Application deadline for funding starting with the summer term 2022 is January 31, 2022 (cut-off deadline). New PhD position announced...
... in the laboratory of Prof. Elisabeth Grohmann in Department V (Life Sciences and Technology); within the DFG research project FOR 5095, subproject 4 "Effects of irrigation water quality and soil type on the soil and plant associated microbiome, abundance, diversity and transferability of antibiotic resistance genes in Gram-positive bacteria". "BHT Young Scientist Minds" started
Today the 1st colloquium of the new university public event series took place. Bianka Kästner, PhD student of Prof. Johannes Bader in Department V, presented under the title "High-Throughput cultivation using picolitre gel microdroplets" the microfluidic platform she is developing, which should enable cultivation and screening of cells, e.g. from environmental samples, in a high-throughput process in the future. The cells are enclosed in microfluidic droplets and cultivated in them.
The next BHT Young Scientist Minds dates are also already scheduled.

Congratulations!
Clemens Villinger has very successfully completed his doctorate with summa cum laude at the Max Weber College at the University of Erfurt on 30.09.2021. Mr. Villinger focused on the topic "From an unjust plan to a just market? Consumption, Everyday Life and Social Inequality in the Long History of the 'Wende'". He was supervised by Prof. Dr. Kerstin Brückweh (FB I) as first supervisor and Prof. Dr. Christiane Kuller (University of Erfurt, second supervisor).
